Carol Ann Jones:
Carol Ann Jones has been singing all her life. After raising two children,
working twenty years behind a computer and running a dairy farm with her
husband, she felt it was time to chronicle her life in music. She wrote all of
the songs on her debut album “Out of the Blue.” Performing on the album are
Vermont’s cream of the crop musicians: Andre Maquera, Gary Spaulding,
Will Patton, Chris Peterman, Dan Skea, Gordon Stone, Aram Bedrosian and
The Spiders. The songs are real-life stories and experiences that people can
relate to. There is a wide variety of music from rockabilly and country to pop
and classic rock. Carol’s second album “Hope” was released in May 2011.
Carol’s music hit the national airwaves in early 2010 when her song “All
About the Wheels” was featured on NPR’s popular show “Car Talk” with
Click & Clack. That same year, her music aired on Vermont stations, The
Point 104.7fm, Farm Fresh Radio 102.9fm, WOKO 98.9fm and Eagle
Country 97.5fm. In 2011, Carol Ann Jones & The Superchargers opened for
Nashville country music star, Josh Thompson (Beer on the Table) and in
2012, the Carol Ann Jones & The Superchargers performed with Jay Leslie
(The Tokens “Lion Sleeps Tonight”) joining the band on saxophone!
Her third release, “Supercharged” is in the end-recording phases at West Street
Digital in Fairfield, VT, under the masterful production of Andre Maquera,
with an expected release in the early spring of 2013. It features a new
collection of Carol Ann’s original songs, Supercharged with her fantastic
band! Carol Ann is also making her theatrical debut in the spring of 2013,
starring in “Girl in the Other Room” an original play by former Miss Vermont,
Sarah Jo Willey. Carol Ann plays the role of Tammy Rexx, and Carol Ann’s
original music scores the play. The show benefits the Alzheimer’s
Association and the Friends of the Enosburg Opera House.
Will Patton is a multi-instrumentalist and composer, in demand both as a jazz
bassist and as a swing/Brasilian/Bluegrass/ Gypsy Jazz mandolinist. His 5
CDs, recorded with his own Ensemble, have been enthusiastically reviewed in
the U.S. and abroad. He has taught at Ashokan, the Django in June Festival
and the March Mandolin Festival and has performed from Key West to
Fairbanks, Alaska and from Paris to Rio.
Gary (aka: Spud) was born drumming and at 2 months old was the best air drummer in New England! He started playing drums at the age of 10 after a two week stint on the trumpet. His father didn’t want him to play the drums fearing they would make Gary go deaf. However after playing the trumpet at home, Gary’s father informed his mother that he could play the drums after all! Herb Alpert was in no danger of Gary taking over his band….Gary’s major influences include Danny Seraphine of Chicago, Ian Paice of Deep Purple, Jeff Pocaro of Toto, Jon Bonham of Led Zeppelin and famous 60′s and 70′s studio drummer, Hal Blaine.
