Winter pop preview: Hot concerts to heat up January nights

Featuring Rachael Price, the Brooklyn-based lead singer of rock band Lake Street Dive, and Brooklyn singer and guitarist Vilray, Rachael & Vilray get intimate in Stowe as part of the Spruce Peak Unplugged series.
Rachael & Vilray bring their vintage swing jazz sound in support of their 2023 sophomore album, “I Love a Love Song!” which finds the dynamic duo delivering original material and expanding to a nine-piece configuration with compelling results.
The 11 tunes “echo the feel of standards without dipping into a single musical or lyrical cliché,” said Downbeat. “The numbers are evenly divided between big band arrangements and intimate small combo settings, but everything swings with smooth, waggish tempos.”
